Built-in support
- A skip link, semantic headings, landmarks and descriptive labels.
- Keyboard-operable answer choices and visible focus indicators.
- Text alternatives for meaningful visual elements; decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology.
- Responsive layouts, large touch targets and support for browser zoom.
- Reduced-motion and increased-contrast preferences.
- Text-based fallbacks when speech playback or microphone recognition is unavailable.
- Twenty-four study-language interfaces, with right-to-left layout for Arabic, Persian and Urdu; beta status is shown wherever independent native-language review is still pending.
Speech features are optional
Oral practice uses browser speech services when available. You can always read the prompt, type a private note or self-grade without a microphone. CitizenReady does not store voice recordings.
Language and government accommodations
CitizenReady language support does not replace an official interpreter, test exception, waiver or disability accommodation. Review the responsible U.S., Canadian, UK or Australian agency rules that apply to your process.
Known limitations
Localized navigation, summaries and practice controls are study aids, not official translations. Twenty-three non-English interfaces are labelled beta and excluded from search indexing until independent native-language review is recorded. Detailed eligibility guides preserve their reviewed English wording. Official U.S. questions remain in English; verified Canadian content remains in English or French; UK and Australian practice remains in English. Speech recognition quality varies by browser, accent, device and background noise.
Reporting a problem
If a control, label, translation or reading order blocks your use, report the page address, language, device, browser and assistive technology through the support and corrections page. Do not include immigration identifiers or sensitive case details.
